After relocating yet another time, Zachary Cole can only hope that this time will be his last. He had spent most of his life moving from city to city and he simply wants it to end. Zachary is only twelve and already he has left a trail of homes and partially made friends behind – his family just left town without so much as a goodbye. SIR EDMUND LOOMIS PUBLIC SCHOOL is somewhat strange, but why should he worry? He just doesn't want to move again. Not only is he given a warm welcome by his new teacher, Mr. Blaides, but he is quickly befriended by several classmates. But when Zachary is cornered by the one boy in school who seems to dislike him, his entire world changes…and all of a sudden he is in Est'vor…a world in which he finds himself among beings and creatures that are even beyond his dreams...

He is overjoyed that he will once again see Garow, the albino Dragon and the giant black bird, Talon. And he can hardly wait to ride with the centaurs of this magnificent world – and even to look into the eyes of Adeldron, the great black panther. But he was brought back to Est'vor for a purpose - much had changed since he first visited this world. Zachary must first stand before the great sphinx, a creature who claims she holds the key to his future....and before he knows it, he finds himself at the forefront of another battle where he must face a merciless and vicious adversary…
